Oleochemical Derivatives Cremer Oleo also offers high quality derivatives which are produced according to individual customer specifications. These include food esters, ester specialties for cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, fatty acid esters for carriers, spreading agents, solvents, viscosity regulators and glazing agents. Furthermore, Cremer Oleo produces a wide assortment of medium-chain-triglycerides (MCTs) used as a source of quick energy in products such as sports drinks and energy bars. MCTs are among the most important products in the world´s rapidly expanding functional food market. MCTs are used in sweets, salad dressings, vegetable oils and diet convenience foods. |
Another important derivative product is plant sterols, which are obtained from a wide variety of vegetable oils and are supplied as an extract to industries such as the food and beverage industry where they are used as cholesterol lowering ingredients.
